custom SMTP exchange server rules

I have an Exchange Server 2003 email account ([email protected]) however I
also have two custom SMTP addresses set up under my exchange account
(sales@mycompany, and support@mycompany). I can send an email to any of the
three email addresses and the emails appear in my inbox. In Outlook 2003 I
would like to set up a rule so a message sent to any one of the email address
is moved to it's respective folder.

However, when I set up a rule to MOVE an email that has been sent TO "people
or distribution list" and use any of the three addresses it treats the email
as the same address. With the "stop processing more rules" is checked it will
drop all emails sent to any of the three addresses into one folder. If "stop
processing more rules" is not checked it will duplicate every email from any
address into all three folders.

I feel like I am missing something very obvious and fundamental. Please
advise :)

are the messages to these addresses coming in from outside the exchange
server? Create a rule for each using 'header contains' the address instead
of using the To condition.

Exchange email does not have a header, so there is nothing for the rule to
work on. You can create a rule that looks for @ and use an exception to
apply it to internal email. Write it to look for all messages, except if
header contains @.
