Yes.
All the usual suspects, Including TIFF and eps (with some difficulty if
you print directly to PDF) and CMYK TIFF may upset Mac Word.
I find it useful to create separate templates for single and double
sided stationery, using different first page and putting the logos in
the headers. (and the first footer for all the company registration
palaver). Double sided of course is set up with even and odd headers as
well -- that way I can restrict the follow-on logo to the left of each
spread.
By setting up the illustration to float behind the text, you can
achieve interesting watermark effects, again using the header and
footer areaas to hold the art - that way you don't have to do it on
every page.
It is all very easy. Don't let me overcomplicate it for you.
