Custom Task Cannot be open when assigned.

I create a custom task with 50 fields. I’m using outlook 2007, I create the
Task and assigned and when the other person tries to open it it get’s an
error message.

This item cannot be displayed in the reading Pane. Open the item to read its
contents.

When they try to open it, appears the following message

Cannot open this item.

This is not the first time I developed a Custom form, I had problems with
keywords fields but I’m not using any in this one. The only different thing
it has it’s a Button with a basic code. I removed the code a it’s still not
working

Could someone please help me?

Thanks

Solange.

I created a new task folder and I'm publising in this folder. then I install
the form in the task folder.

It's the only error that shows. I can't accept, decline, Delete etc.

Thanks

Think about this: If you published the form only to that new tasks folder,
how would Outlook know to look in that particular folder to get the form
definition? The answer is: It doesn't, and that's why the other person may
be getting an error when they try to open the item that you sent. At the
very least, you'd need to publish to each person's Personal Forms library or
to the Organizational Forms library on the Exchange server. For testing, try
publishing to the other person's Personal Forms library and see if that
resolves the problem.

Sue it's not the only custom task that we use and we always publish the form
in each personal folder because we don't have access to the exchange server.

Any other idea?

Thanks

I don't know what you mean by "personal folder." Are you saying that the
form already is published to each person's Personal Forms library, and not
to the new task folder as you said earlier?

sorry if I didn't explain myself better. We use the new task folder because
it's simpler to drop an e-mail in the folder and create a task with the
specific custom task of that folder, then to assign the task we move it to
the task folder. We publish the form in the person's new task folder, in the
task folder and in the personal forms library and it doesn´t work.

We delete the code and the button and is still doesn´t work

thanks for your help

I think I'm more confused than ever about what you're doing. If I read your
description correctly, by "assign," you don't mean Outlook's built-in task
assignment mechanism (which works fully only when a task is in the default
Tasks folder). Instead, to assign a task, the user moves it to a particular
folder. Is that correct?
