Custom Task fields deletion issue - Strange Err - Project Pro 2007

Hello:

I got an strange error this morning when I was asked from PMO to upload a
new template in Project server.

PROBLEM:

Using Import Wizard, it worked fine without error. I mapped all task level
custom fields with Enterprise task fields without an error. The problem
started when I checked to verify the TASK custom fields in new uploaded
Enterprise template and found that all the custom local task fields (flag
fields) that was originally in new local template, was also showing in the
new Enterprise template.

I tried to delete them using Tools>>Organizer manually but the system is not
deleting all these local custon task flag field. Even I opened a local
template without connecting Project Server (standalone project) to delete it
and it was surprised that the project pro is not deleting those custom fields.

I was able to add new custom task flag field and delete from that template
without any issue but for any reason but it is not allowing me to delete
those 2 custom fields.

I would highly appreciate for your earliest response...

This was particularly a problem when PS2007 first came out. Not only
did you have these phantom fields but of oten they would contain
corrupt data. You do not say which version of PS2007 you are using.
In any case I would strongly suggest you build your template from
ground up to ensure you do not propagate unwanted "features".
