Custom Toolbars, Global.mpt and the Global Enterprise Template

Problem: Custom Toolbar reappears after deleting using organizer.

Background: We have two Project Server environments, Test and Production.
I developed a macro for a custom toolbar and made it part of global.mpt, my
local
global template. When ready to test and deploy in the Test environment, I
copied it to the TEST Global Enterprise Template (GET) using the organizer as
described here and elsewhere.

I later deleted the custom toolbar and macros from the TEST GET, but it
reappeared when I re-opened Project Pro. I deleted the custom toolbar again
using the organizer, but it would reappear in the next session. I opened
Project Pro in local mode (offline), deleted the toolbar again and it was
gone for all subsequent sessions. Good! It was gone from TEST environment,
too! However – argghhh! -- it reappeared when connecting to the PROD Project
Server environment. It was never copied into the PROD GET. It does not
appear in either TEST GET nor PROD GET organizer, nor in the global.mpt when
in local mode. Is there a cache copy to delete somewhere? Does Project Pro
combine the global.mpt and the GET into a cache that is subsequently loaded
into Project Pro?

BTW, a co-worker can not permanently delete the custom toolbar at all except
when in local mode. In other words, the custom toolbar reappears in both
TEST and PROD, but not local offline.

Thanks Mike, But which "server newsgroup" other than
"microsoft.public.project.server" (to which I did post this message) should I
be posting to? I know of 3 groups: ...project.server, ...project.developer,
and ...project. Am I missing one?

In a previous posting of this message, under a different subject line, I
posted to the developer and server groups only. After a week, there were no
bites.

BTW, We are using 2003.

This help greatly! Thanks so much Faisal! These article enabled me to find
the name of the cached Enterprise Global Template (EGT) file stored in the
application data folder.

BTW. For some strange reason, the problem with my colleague's toolbars
fixed itself. Go figure. Probably cached a new version of the EGT at a later
date.

No, Steve, there's only those three. I must admit that I don't look at
which other groups this is posted to as only this one deals with the basic
desktop version. Any inclusion of server or vba matters, I always refer to
the correct group (although most of the experts frequent them all) as it
clutters up this group. Hence the dangers of multiple or cross posting. :)
