Hi all,
I have created a custom template in WSS for use with Project Server
2003 by taking the standard PS template and adding additional lists
such as change requests and monthly financials, then saved this list
as a site template, exported it to an STP file and then added this
template to the list of avaiable templates using STSADM.exe - no
worries.
It works fine if the server this was created on is the same as the
server you are deploying on. If however, I want to do the custom work
on a workstation running projectsever and wss and then deploy to a
different server, the WSS template contains project server references
to the local server, not the deploying server.
Consequently, when the WSS project site wants to communicate with
project server (to say synchronise issues) it cannot locate it and
returns an error dialog explaining:
Windows Sharepoint Services cannot access information from projects
server and
displays two references:
ProjectServerURL: http://DEVserver/projectserver
Sharepoint URL: http://PRODserver
Also the project server site groups in WSS are not created and its
likely this is beacuse the project server reference is incorrect.
So far I have not been able to find in the databases where this
reference is stored (hence its possibly binary).
Has anyone had experience with this, does anyone know who I can speak
to?
