custom x-axis label on xy scatter graph

R

Ramissah

I would like to change the label on an xy scatter graph to
show years instead of the default. Any ideas on how to do
this?

TIA,
Ramissah

Ramissah -

If you have the years in one column (row) and the data in the next
column (row), select both prior to making the scatter chart. Excel will
use the first column (row) for X axis data, and the second for the Y
axis data.

Of course, the chart is already made, right? Select the chart, choose
Source Data from the Chart menu, click on the Series tab, select the
series from the list, click in the X Values box, then select the range
of cells that contain the X data (the years).
