Customer access to Project Workspace

Is there a way we can provide access to Customers to Project Workspace on PWA?

If yes, can you please outline the steps needed to accomplish this? Thanks!

Hi Anum

essentially you will need to create a user for your customer. firstly you
would need to create a windows user account / or a forms user account (
depending on what access you have set up). Then you use this user to create a
Project Server user.
From there you can assign the appropriate Access which would also mean that
your customer could view the workspace.
Hope this helps

Thank you Marc.

Is there a way we can create an account for the customer without using the
Windows account? We do not want to create a domain account for the Customers?

Is there a way we can just create a Customers account in Project Server and
give them access to PWA?

In addition, how do we create 'forms user account'.

Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi Anum,

the only other way is using forms authentication. If you go the the
Microsoft TechNet site, there are some good articles on how to set them up.
Please note forms authentication is a SharePoint functionality that Project
Server uses.
Hope this helps

Anum:

This topic requires much more discussion than a newsgroup thread. You can
find information on setting up forms authentication on TechNet. With that
said, you also need to think about architecture and security. Do you want
people accessing machines on your LAN, or would a DMZ server be more
appropriate? the latter is usually what I recommend. You should do some
research on Extending SharePoint systems to a DMZ.
