Customer Experience Improvement Program

How do I remove "Customer Experience Improvement Program" feature from
installation? I'm using custom installation wizard to create mst file. We
will be rolling out this to more than 3000 users and we don't want them to go
and remove manually from Help menu. I know we can use Office11 policy and
disable this but is it possible to just not install in the first place?

Hi Au,

The SQM/CEIP program setting is off by default (registry entry) in Office 2003
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011402431033.aspx
and as you mentioned you can use a policy (registry setting) to disable it as well. Registry settings can be included in the MST
deployment file and you can block Internet access for most of Office as well.

FWIW the data that is collected from that program is what MS used to determine what features users were or were not finding/using to
determine what to focus on for Office 2007.

I did read that document but for some reason it is not off in my install. Let
me give you more details what I'm doing. I'm using custom installation wizard
to roll out only Outlook2003 using MST. During wizard, I'm not making any
changes to features. I'm taking all default settings.
May be this one has to do something with Outlook2003 that is why this thing
is keeep poping up in task notifications area?
