Customers have long wait times for address book.

I am a Mac Administrator, and I have Entourage working fairly well with exchange except for one thing. It seems to take a long time to browse or view contacts in the address book. Every time I search or look up a contact, entourage spends sometimes up to 2 or 3 minutes updating to the exchange server before returning the results. I see this with both 2004 and 2008. Our PC Outlook clients work with no wait times. Is this a configuration issue? Is there some sort of cache that I can turn on?

Just an update... It looks like there is only slowness when searching for contacts through the "To: / CC:" bar in an e-mail (1-2 minute response). The address book tab itself appears to be working pretty well. I get a 1 - 2 second response. Again... any thoughts that may help me out?

Just a hunch... If searching the GAL directly is quickly but searching
while addressing a message is slow then you could have a corrupt local
Address Book or Exchange Contacts list.

Use Entourage's Entourage --> Switch Identity... feature to create a new
identity and set up your Exchange account again. See if the problem goes
away. If not, then I'd suspect a corrupt record in Exchange Contacts.

Hope this helps!
