customised enterprise project field

Hi chaps
I have created a customised enterprise project field called
"department" with an associated value list. I've made this an optional
field.
I need to remove the value i have input in one of my projects but I
seem unable to do so.
Please could you tell me how i tell get round this?
Do i have to start all over again?!

You haven't provided enough information in this post. Describe the steps
you're taking the system behavior as specifically and completely as you can.

It was a complete user error issue!
I've worked out how to do it now!
