After many months of trying resolve the tabbing issue on customised
userforms in excel 2004, I have finally had this reply from
Microsoft:-

"I wanted to touch base with you regarding your issue.
RE: OFF2004 Unable to Tab from field to field in User Form
After thoroughly reviewing your issue we have determined that we are
not going to be able to correct the problem you are experiencing with
Excel
2004. The reason that we cannot correct this problem is detailed
below:

After careful consideration, addressing this in current product would
be very risky at this point. The code is deep in a shared library and
any changes there might introduce unexpected instabilities in Excel
2004 and 2008. That said, we will investigate a fix for the next
version of Excel on the Mac. Note that availability for the next
version is not yet determined, and I can't promise we will absolutely
fix in that release.

At this point, Microsoft has investigated all possibilities for
resolving this issue. With your permission I am going to go ahead and
archive the case as unresolved.
I am sorry we were unable to provide a solution to you on this issue,
hopefully it will be fixed in the next version of Office.
I am still looking to see if I can provide you with a copy of Office
X, I should have a response on that by the end of this week.

I find this totally unacceptable and would like to know of anyone else
who is affected by this. As It has worked in every previous version
of Excel and even works on PC version 2008, I wonder if a united and
possibly legal approach might have more clout. Nowhere in the
documentation for office 2004 does it day the tabbing between text
boxes feature has been disabled, in fact the relevant help pages
explain exactly how to make it happen......to no avail.
