Customization within Microsoft Project

I have two questions that deal with Microsoft Project cusomization:

1. Is it possible to hide the non-custom views from the view bar,
without polluting the Enterprise Global? The act of turning off the
"Show in menu" box automatically adds the associated views to the
Enterprise Global.

2. How do I set the task properties in the Enterprise Global so that
when I create a task the following fields are set automatically: the
"Effort Driven" field is turned off, and the "Task type" field is set
to Fixed Duration?

Thanks in advance,
Margarita

Hi,

Show in menu shouldn't add views to Enterprise Global and it can't unless
the EG is open.

Under Tools, Options and the schedule tab, set Effort off and your default
task type. Then click Set as default and the settings stick, but for local
users only, I don't think this can be done for the Enterprise.

As a note, fixed duration is the one that causes most pop up error messages
and requires careful training for users to understand what is happening and
why. Fixed Units is the most flexible.
