Customize “paste fromâ€

How can I customize the “past from†functionality? For example adding a date
and time to each clipping.
I do a lot of research and use Onenote to organize it all. Often I must
update information on a page or section and it would be helpful to know not
only where I got the clipping from but when.
Also, is there any way I can have it tell me where ALL information is pasted
form? For example if I cut and paste from a .pdf file have it include the
same link it normally does for a word file?
Thank you!

On the timestamp question: the quickest thing you will be able to do is
immediately after "pasting from" the other office program is to press either:

alt-shift-d (which is "insert date")
alt-shift-f ("insert date and time")

If you already use ctrl-v for "paste" then pressing alt-shift-d will quickly
become second nature. If you don't -- try it you will find it is very quick.

On inserting the link for PDFs, it only does this automatically for
clippings when snapping a shot of another MS office program. You would
have to actually "insert" the link instead of using a screen clipping. You
can do this by dragging over to OneNote from windows explorer, and choosing
"insert hyperlink". Or "insert Printout and hyperlink" will print the whole
PDF to onenote, with the hyperlink. Then hit alt-shift-d for your date.

Good luck.
