Customize Drop Down Form Field in Word 2003?

I am creating a form (in Word) where I would like to have many standard and
lengthy items accessed by a drop down list, but I can only have seven
drop-down list items and each item can be only of a certain length. How do I
increase the number of items beyond the default 7, and increase the number of
characters in each item on the Drop Down items list?

All "Help" has given me is how to add items to the toolbar, not how to to
add items to a drop down items list in a docuemtn

There has to be a way to increase the number and size of the items in the
drop down list beyond the defaults, right?

A dropdown form field in Word 2003 can have up to 25 items. I think you are
being misled by the fact that the scroll box shows only seven; if you add
more, the scroll bar becomes active.

Besides the limit of 25 items, each item in a dropdown form field is limited
to 50 characters.

To work around either or both limitations, you'll need to program a userform
(a custom dialog box) containing a combo box control. See
