customize fields do not show up

hi there,

please help. If I use the tools -> customize -> fields
functionality and rename Text1 as "Part One" then "Part
One" will not show up in the chart of the task. I would
like to see "Part One" in the chart as its description.
I expect it to show up when I chose "text1" for the center
of the chart in the formatting screen.

All my colleagues have the same problem. What do I do
wrong?

What ever you store for each task in Text1 will be shown on the bar.
"Part One" is the name of the field. The name of the field does not show up
on the bar, only the contents of the field.
If it did not work this way then you wouldn't be able to display individual
values for task name, start, finish etc.
So, insert that field and then enter a value in that field for each task and
the value will show up the way you want.
