Customize Outline Formatting

I'd like to be able to define my own format for outline numbering and format.
I prefer to use an outline format of:
I. asfad;j;jdf
A. alsk;ljfdj
1. as;ljkf;jl
2. asj;a;ljf
a. alskjf;jf
b. a;lsjdf;
B. as;fj;jsf;
II. ;slajkdf;jf

To do this currently, I have to change the number format with each level and
each use.

Unfortunately that is the only way to do it (manually). But there is a
quicker method that can be used to apply after the outline is created.

Type your outline normally, using the Tab and Backspace keys as you go to
create only the outline structure. Do not apply numbering or bullet
formatting yet.

Once the outline is complete, select all of the outline text and use the
Numbering Task Pane to apply the desired numbering format to all lines at the
level specified in the "Change numbers on:" dropdown box.

Again, it's still a manual process but it is shortened somewhat (IMO) by
doing it all in bulk at the end.

Erik,

Thanks for the tip. It will probably save time. That said, it is an
inelegant workaround, or more bluntly - a kludge. I am hopeful that a more
sophisticated outline numbering tool will be added to OneNote.
