Hi all.

When I customize my toolbars with the butons I want, after closing Word or
Excel, the buttons disapear, I also tried creating my own toolbar, but same
thing, once I reboot the applications the new toolbars despear.

Does anyone has any ideas about this ?

Hi Mary,
When I open Microsoft Office tools, there is no such thing as the SAVE MY
SETTINGS wizard. Any other ideas?

Hello, I had the same problem, but I solved it by editing directely the
Normal.dot file.

To do that, open Word, then click on "Open" (icon, or menu "File", or
by Ctrl+O), then choose the file Normal.dot, which is normally located
here: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates (just replace "User" by the name of your
Windows profile).

Note, to see "Normal.dot", you have to activate the option to "show
hidden files and folders". (if you need to know how to do it, ask).
You have to open this file from the Open command inside Word, it
doesn't work if you double click on Normal.dot, because it will just
open Word with a new blank Document.doc based on the template that is
Normal.dot.

Once you have Normal.dot opened, (it shows "Normal.dot - Microsoft
Word" on the title bar on top), do all the customizations of toolbars
you want. You can also modify the font, margins, and all your settings
will become the new default template for any new page you create with
Word. You can even write text.
Then, just click on "Save".
Close Word.

Reopen Word and check that your modifications are there.
