Customized Reports

I need to produce "one" report that has the following criteria:

Completed Tasks (2 week period)
Bi-weekly status (2 week period)
Slipped Tasks (2 week period)
Expected to be completed in next two week period

I'm using Project 98 and I know it has its limitations. I alm also aware the
MSP produces some of these reports canned. However I was hoping someone might
be able to shed some light on this. Also if anyone knows of supplemental
report applications that are compatible with MSP for reporting is available,
and if later versions of MSP provide this kind of customization.

HI,

I would create this in Project 98 by having a macro create and apply a
filter for all relevant tasks. Either apply it on a Gantt or Task Sheet
view, then print the result.

You could also try using Auto Filter and adding custom filters to get most
of what you want. The custom filter can be saved for reuse.

Rod,

Thanks, how would I create a Macro to display all of these requirements in
"one" report? Will all of the required information show on the task sheet or
Gantt that I create?

What do you mean by "completed tasks"? Is this %Complete = 100 or %Work
Complete = 100. They mean quite different things.

What do you mean by "bi-weekly status"? What are the criteria for the tasks
you want to show and what information for each of those tasks do you want to
show?

What do you mean by "slipped tasks"? If a given task is 20 hours of work
but a duration of 160 hours it hasn't slipped until the 141st hour has been
reached and 0 work has been done. (Or until the 150th hour has been reached
and 9 or fewer hours have been done). Conversely, it is ahead of schedule
if, after 8 hours of duration there have been 12 hours of work performed.

What does "Expected to be completed in the next two weeks" mean? If a task
has 160 hours of duration (that's 4 weeks) and 40 hours of work and at the
end of 1 week 39 hours of work have been done does this qualify?

In other words, you have going to have to be substantially more forthcoming
in the description of what you want to accomplish before any of us can even
begin to help.

Completed Tasks means 100% complete.

Bi-Weekly Status - Show task status (in progress, delayed, pending, not
started, started etc.) within the current two week period (e.g. report for a
two week period of Dec. 13 thru Dec. 27, 2004)

Slipped tasks - Tasks that are supposed to be completed within a specific
timeframe. If task assigned 40hrs for Dec. 10th thru Dec. 15th. I need to
know if the 40 hours is used or not used, and how much, and if started late
from original projection.

Expected to be Completed within next two weeks- Means, if present reporting
period is Dec. 1 - 14th, then the next reporting period would be Dec. 15th-
28th. Show tasks that are expected to be completed within this timeframe.
Your example would not qualify.

Looking forward to your response. Thanks.
