Customizing Grid Appearance on Task Page

Has anyone ever customized the appearance of the grid on
the Tasks page. What I would like to do is have the
weekends shaded a different color in that grid.

Right now it just provides the date with no day name.
This makes it easy for users to unknowingly put time
against the wrong day.
