Customizing Outlook 2002

Whenever I attempt to customize Outlook Today...in this case to the "Summer"
view...I note the following happens: (1) I do not get a thumbnail (instead I
get that little red "X" in the upper left-hand corner of the thumbnail view).
(2) I do get the Summer view after I click in Save Settings. (3) However,
when I switch to another program and then come back to Outlook, I find I am
back in the Standard view. Anyone else run into this? Any suggestions on how
to fix?

While Outlook is closed, do a search for the outlwvw.dll file (it may be at
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE10\1033\outlwvw.dll for Outlook 2002,
but I'm not sure) and rename it to outlwvw.old. When you restart Outlook,
run Detect and Repair from the Help menu (alternatively you can start Word or
another Office product and run it from their Help menus). Make sure you have
your Office CD handy. Hopefully the restored outlwvw.dll file will work
better.
