Hello,

I would like a customized toolbar in PP. Personally I would like to create my own but a user-created toolbar cannot be docked and hence is a deal-breaker for me. So I would like to customize the Standard and Formatting toolbars. HOWEVER I wish to make backups of the standard "template"(?) in case of corruption as advised for Word and Excel (in the forums). FURTHER I also wish to backup my newly customized toolbars.

I would greatly appreciate instructions on those two.

Thanks,
- m

Hi,

You can create customized toolbars in PowerPoint. Customized toolbars
can be docked.

To create a custom toolbar, use the View menu and choose Customize Menus
and toolbars.
Click the New button
Give your toolbar a name
A very tiny placeholder big enough for one toolbar button will appear.
You may have to hunt around the screen to find the placeholder.
Click the Commands tab.
Drag commands to your toolbar (or any other toobar or menu).
Click OK to close the Customize dialog box

To dock a toolbar just drag it to the top, bottom, left, or right edge
of the screen. It will snap into place when it is docked.

Don't worry about messing up a built-in toolbar. In the same Customize
dialog box you can select a toolbar and click the reset button to
restore it to original.
