Customizing Project Workspace list on home page

I would like to add new columns to the Project Workspace list view on the
home page. More than anything I would like to add my customized traffic light
columns to the view. Anyone know how to customize that page?

Hi Tharmagon,

when you write column on the project workspace home page, what exactly do
you mean?
Your project workspace consist of web parts and gerenally you can amend your
home page by adding web parts to your workspace, Project Server has some web
parts that you can incorporate. In regards to you traffic lights, I assume
that these are project traffic lights? If so you can simply add the Project
Center web part or the Project Detail web part to your home page which would
display project center or proejct detail views, which one of them could be a
traffic light view.
Hope this helps

This request is for our company senior management and mainly for the company
owner. I have added the Project Center web part to the home page for them so
it sits below the Project Workspaces web part. But they do not want two areas
to drill down from. What they want is a quick way to drill down to a
particular project workspace from the home page - the Project Workspace list
provides that. But on that list they want an over of all projects so they
know which are in trouble. I told them they can see the overview on the
Project Center web part but drill down using the workspaces web part. But
they want the project workspaces web part to show the overview. So therefore
I need to add columns to the Project Workspaces web part to show overview
data like the custom traffic lights, percentage complete etc., and remove the
Project Center web part from the home page. I have also added the Project
Details web part to each project workspace page. So once they do drill down
they can see the project task details .. which is what they wanted. Basically
they want one entry point on the home page that gives them enough top level
information. Then they want to be able to drill down from that page to get to
all the detail. Hope that makes more sense.

Hi Tharmagon,

I see. Well firstly you cannot customise the Project workspace list. You
would have to custom develop your own web part in order to achieve this.

What I would do is use the Project Center web part, since you can see your
projects in trouble and within the project center you can access the
workspace as well. All your executives need to do is highlight the project,
click on the go to button and choose workpspace. This should do the trick
Hope this helps
