Customizing PS2007 cubes

Hi all,

I know that PS2007 create a cube collection (or database) with 14 cubes.

The questions are:
1 - Can those cubes be customized via Analysis Service Interface ?
ex.: add a new dimension that is not in PS2007 database.
PS2007 does not create dimensions for fields with formula. So, I have to
customize it.

2 - Can I add new cubes with information from legacy systems ?

2.1 - PS2007 cube generation process will process these new cubes ?

Hi Claudio,
generally you can create new cubes from other systems anyway, so the answer
is yes. In order to achieve this you will need to know how to create cubes
from other DB's. This is not an easy task and requires exact analysis, but
generally certainly possible.

in regards to add new dimensions to the Project Server cubes that are not
custom fields in Project Server, the answer is gernelly yes, BUT....only with
custom development. Have a look at the Project Server SDK. You may find some
good insigths on how to achieve your goal in there. In summary, amending OLAP
cubes is not an easy task and you need to know what you are doing in the
Analysis Server world. Best of luck with it.
