customizing ribbon

D

db

I don't need and
don't want to see
equations or symbols
of the ribbon insert
menu.

and I want the extra
space to be allocate
to expanding the label
for data and time.

any ideas?

-----------------

( I spent about 20
minutes the other day
trying to find the insert
date.

the "help" was totally
useless and ended up
going through all the trouble
of manually entering the
date in a letter.

what's the point in spending
a couple of hundred dollars
for office, if I can't enjoy the
feature inserting the date?

so I sent microsoft a
scathing feedback )

<sigh> - Insert-Text-Date and Time. It took me all of 30 SECONDS to see
that. Without the aid of HELP.

You're blind.
Don't advertise your "computer skills" in your sig if your application
skills are that lacking.

Rubbish. If I type "Date" in the search box the FIRST item that comes up is
how to do "Insert-Text Section-Date and time".

D

db

that is what it was
supposed to do
but did not on mine,

damn troll.

Ribbon customization will [very likely] be built into the next version of
Office (2010). For now, you can use Patrick Schmid's ribbonx customizer
(there might be others, as well). Take a look here:

http://pschmid.net/office2007/ribboncustomizer/index.php

Note: I have no business association with Patrick, but I've heard good
things about RibbonX, which I have not personally used.
