Customizing Toolbars crashes Word2004

I have tried adding items to the Word Toolbar and every time it
crashes. It says drag the icon to toolbar but it never gets there. As
soon as it moves from the customize box the application crashes.
Seems to happen on Excel as well.

Something's probably corrupted on your system. Work through the
troubleshooting suggestions you will find at this link:

(hit refresh a few times in Safari, or use a different browser)

Since it's across applications, might want to start with the link re Global
Templates and Third-Party Add-ins (written for Word but essentially the same
for Excel), and if that isn't it, run through the suggestions under The
Basics.
