Customizing "View My Tasks"

When my users log into Project Web they see a default view of all the tasks
assigned to them. How can control what view they see there. Within project
on my desktop I have custom fields ( number 1, 2, and 3) utilized for
estimates and would like them to show and be editable for all team members.
Anyone know how to do this or if it is possible?

If you are using Project Server 2003, your Project Server administrator can
modify the Timesheet view to control the layout and width of the columns
displayed in the View My Tasks page and set the position of the vertical
split bar. Your Project Server administrator can also modify this view to
add extra custom enterprise fields to the default list that is displayed on
this page. If the Project Server administrator adds extra custom enterprise
columns, each project manager will need to do the following in every project
in the system:

1. Click Tools - Customize - Published Fields
2. Copy the extra custom fields to the list on the right
3. Click OK
4. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments

Doing the above steps will "push" the data from the custom enterprise fields
into the View My Tasks page. That's about the extent of customization that
can be done with the View My Tasks page. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dale:

That was the missing piece of the puzzle. I got my custom fields there.
Unfortunately the column headers are still labelled Number1, Number2, Number
3 and not Estimate1 as in my main project file. I am using 2002, and under
Manage Views I dont see a view called TimeSheet. Is it named something
different in my version?

My directions were specific to Project Server 2003. Since you are using
Project Server 2002, there is no Timesheet view for your Project Server
administrator to customize. Therefore, every team member will need to
rearrange the columns on their timesheet manually.

Concerning the Number1, Number2 issue, are you using enterprise custom
Number fields, or local custom Number fields? You should be using
enterprise fields for this purpose. Let us know.
