cut and copy actions cause Windows to log out

Hi,

I hope SOMEONE can help me out here before I go insane... I have Win2K
Server and Office XP and when I open Word and try to cut or copy,
Windows immediately closes all my open apps and logs out. This
happens when I use the Edit menu, the keyboard shortcuts
(ctrl-c/ctrl-x) or even drag and drop text. It does NOT happen when
using WordPad or NotePad so I think it's specific to Office. PLEASE
HELP ME!!!

Does Windows go back to the login screen, or does it shutdown?
