Hi Alan,
More than likely their add-in is adding a menu or toolbar item and is
using the Clipboard to add the image. Of course this is unnecessary
since there are other techniques that can be used. Unfortunately many
third-parties (including Microsoft) do not understand why creating a
"well behaved add-in" is important to users.
More than likely the Bluetooth add-in is controlled by a DLL and you
should be able to use Bluetooth without the add-in for the Office
applications.
First check Add/Remove Programs and see if there is a separate listing
for the add-in.
If that doesn't work then download the Process Explorer from:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml
- Start Word
- Run the Process Explorer utility
- In the upper pane select Winword.exe
- Locate the "View DLLs" command in the Toolbar (if you see View
Handles then View DLLs is already in use)
- In the lower pane see if you can locate DLLs for Belkin (there may
be more than one so hopefully the Description will help you out.)
- Locate the path for the DLL in a column on the right
- Once found exit Word and rename the DLL to prevent it from loading.
Note it is best to rename the file extension rather than the file
name.

I don't know if it's the Belkin software specifically, or the
bluetooth drivers in general, but once I uninstalled it the issue was
a non-issue. I've submitted the bug via WISH, though if you have a
fast track as an MVP (I couldn't find anything to do so from my MSDN
account), by all means use it. I'll get in touch with Belkin now and
let them know.
