Cut and paste text format issue

I frequently cut and paste text from one email to another and I have
the issue when I paste text into my new message. The text gets double
line spaced almost all of the time. It is quite annoying and hard to
fix. I end up cutting the text, paste it into notepad, cut it from
notepad and paste it back into my email. My email format is HTML and
the text is cut/copied from rich text emails usually.

Is there some way to prevent the text from becoming all double line
spaced looking? I want to stay with the HTML format, not to go to
plain or rich text.

I would appreciate any thoughts or ideas.
