Cut and Paste Text formats

NSim

Hello,

I am trying to make a list by cutting and pasting text from a web page. the text on the web page is displayed in a horizontal format with space between words. When I paste this into my excel worksheet is puts the data into a verticle format with each piece of data underneith the previous data. I know in Excel for Microsoft Windows, the data pastes horizontally with each piece of data in a separate cell. Please let me know if there is a setting I can change to allow it to paste horizontally.

Thanks!

Hi NSim,

There are lots of ways to get data from web pages into Excel. One method
will not necessarily work best for every web page.

Try using your web browser's "View HTML Source" option to display the HTML
code. The use EDIT > SELECT ALL and then EDIT > COPY. Switch to Excel,
select any cell then use EDIT > PASTE to paste the HTML code into Excel.
Excel will then render the web page as best it can.

If you are using Excel version X try my free web query template:
