Cut and pasting tables between Access databases

We have discovered that we are unable to cut and paste
tables between different databases in Access 2002. When
selecting "cut" then opening the other database and
selecting "paste", the paste option is greyed out and th
cut table is lost on the source database. It does not
appear on the clipboard. Cut and paste will work howver
between different databases if two instances of Access
are open at the same time. Copy and paste also works ok.
Why wont this work between databases in one open version
of Access? Is this a known problem? Is there a solution?
Thanks in anticipation for any assistance/advice you can
provide.

What are you trying to accomplish? There may be more than one way. For
example, I can open an Access database and use File/Get External Data/Import
to import a complete copy of another db's table.
