cut/copy and paste in word - entire screen is pasted

When I try to do a simple cut and paste: right click the mouse; edit -
copy/cut and paste; or ctrl+c / ctrl+v, it won't work properly.

I copy a sentence, and the entire screen is pasted, toolbars and all.

What is going on?

I have to remember at times to not do ctrl+a and then ctrl+c this action will
copy all, left click and darken character or sentence then press ctrl+c then
ctrl+v this action will copy and paste a character to indefinate pages

From your description, it sounds like it taking a screenshot (Alt+PrtScn).
My guess is that you must have a third party utility for taking screenshots
that is incompatible with Word 2007. To test for this, start Word in Safe
Mode.

From Start, Run type in

winword /a

and press enter. Are you able to correctly Copy/Paste now?

actually when word started from run>winword / a,
I got this error message:
This file could not be found. (c:/documents and settings\owner\a.doc)

When I click 'ok' I can start using Word.

It does not make a screen shot.

But if I open word from my desktop, it does.

Please try again but note the spacing:

winword /a

There is one space between winword and / but no space between / and a.
Please test again.

Well I am not sure what is going on, but I still suspect it is a utility
that you have installed that is incompatible with Word. Check in Word
Startup, check in Tools, Templates and Add-ins and check in Tools Macros and
see what is listed. That may give you a clue as to what is causing your
problem.

I have the same problem in both word and excel. If I open the clipboard, I
can copy and paste normally. However, this limits the usability of the paste
special. This is really annoying. The only program that I installed recently
is a trial version of Amicus. Any further thoughts.

What happens when you open Word in Safe Mode?

I have exactly this problem, have checked for macros, add-ins and templates
and have none. The issue is still there in safe mode. Only recent change I
have is adding a suite of Adobe programs (V7.0) recently. Any ideas are
welcome.
