Cut , Copy & Paste Problems

I just installed my office XP on a new machine and find
that if I cut or copy an item from one office product
(Word) to a Contact form (Outlook) that I can only paste
one time and it is then lost unless I use the clipboard
(Which I Hate). Prevously I could paste the same item
multiple times.

1.Is there a fix for this and, if not.........
2. Is there a way to have the stupid clipboard "on top"
all the time.
