Cut from Excel and paste into word

With an earlier version of Office I could cut a spreadsheet from Excel and paste it into my word document "without borders or gridlines". I would use "paste special" and paste it into my document as a picture. Now when I do that, even though I have no gridlines or borders in my Excel spreadsheet, the spreadsheet I paste into the word document shows gridlines. Arrgg! Is there something different I can do to avoid that?

I'm not seeing that here. In an Excel 2008 sheet I've used Preferences to
turn off the display of Gridlines & selected/copied a range of cells which
have no Borders applied.

In Word 2008 using Paste Special> Picture I get exactly what I see in the
sheet - no borders, no gridlines.

I remember that there have been a number of graphics issues addressed by
Office updates, so the first thing I would suggest is to confirm that all
have been applied - 12.1.7 is the current update level.

Also, in Excel try selecting the range then hold the Shift key while you
open the Edit Menu to select the Copy Picture command. Leave the option set
for As Shown on Screen then just do a regular Paste into Word. You might
also try again with the other option [As Shown When Printed] just to see if
there's any different result.

Post back with your findings.

Thank you! I tried all suggestions and only one worked. I went into Excel Preferences and turned off the display of Gridlines - copied the range of cells, then pasted it into my Word document as a picture and got the results I was looking for.

The other methods did not work.

Thank you!
