cut/paste cells from Excel

I have an excel spreadsheet with a bunch of rows, I can select multiple
cells in the same column and paste them into an InfoPath repeating table and
it actually pastes them as separate rows. This is expected.

However, if I have the same form but open it in the browser and attempt the
same operation, the only cell that gets pasted is the first cell from the
Excel spreadsheet and no additional cells are added to the repeating table.
This was not expected.

Does anyone know if there is a way to accomplish this with a browser enabled
form? Or is it just a piece of functionality lost when using the form in the
browser?
