SYSTEM: Staff members create a WORD document and send to managers and
managers respond in WORD. The staff member then cuts/pastes the findings
from WORD into an Access 97 (yeah, really old version - smile) textbox field
and management response into an Access text box field on an Access form.
Note: the original data is input by several folks who may even have different
versions of WORD (some with software patches some without) on their
computers.
PROBLEM:
1) some fields show up correct in Access' report preview, but do not always
print correctly when sent to the printer [i.e. some fields may actually be
squished together into one field location. But this squishing does not
consistently occur on each page of the report.]
2) when exported to WORD, fields which should be in columns (because they
are in the detail part of the report) sometimes will have one wrapped
line/part of the first field/line jump into a subsequent field (usually the
field to the right). In this second scenario, tabs do not print properly but
may be moved into another nearby field.
CURRENT SOLUTION: I've been able to correct the problem by deleteing the
data in the field (either from the form or from the Access table itself) and
re-typing in the data where the problem originally occurs. The anomalies do
not consistently happen.
QUESTION: Does this occur because of the cut from Word 2003 and paste into
Access 97/2003; and is there a way to fix the inconsistent anomalies without
having to do the re-typing?
