Damaged Database?

Please can someone help me with the latest advice for a seemingly damaged database. I've a largish set of folders & the Inbox folder appears to be corrupted although there's no clue as to how?

I've followed previous advice of trying to export archive but it won't export past the Inbox, hence I presume this is the problem.

When I open Entourage, all my folders seem fine except my Inbox which appears blank until I click on multiple messages at which point they "appear". However, it indicates I have one unopened message in today's section which will not display.....is this the corrupted message?

I'm a novice with this kind of thing & very anxious I may lose all my folders & contacts, etc. Please can someone advise in the simplest laymen steps what my best approach should be?

Much obliged,
Julian

Rebuilding and recovering a database is complex there are no simple laymen's
terms I can write out. Your corruption sounds severe from your description
of your Inbox. It's going to take more than just rebuilding. Start with the
links here.

How to rebuild:

How to manually move your data. (when import fails and/or you need to move
to a new Identity same version or revert to an older version)

Did you try simply launching Entourage with the Option key down to
rebuild the database?

Make sure Office is perfectly up to date first though,

Thanks for your advice but I simply took the plunge & hit the Rebuild button & it safely fixed the problem. My database was a largish 2.78GB but it completed the 5-step process in about 8 mins & all is well. It must've been a corrupted email attachment in the last day.

Thanks again with regards,
Julian

I sure am glad it's working now. Thanks for reporting back,
