Damaged or corrupt FP Forum

I made the mistake of trying to delete test postings on a FP forum to save
the page space and such. That seemed to work at first, but then got out of
synch. I tired to find out where and fix, to no avail. It now calls up
double posts and incorrect subjects. Since then (from this discussion group)
I have learn what deleting can do(as it obvioulsy did). Is there a fix to
this problem? I have tried deleting the entire discussion folder and
re-pulbishing the earlier one and it is still confused.

Any ideas??? Is there some folder or file that needs redoing or deleting?

"C", I have been through the same thing, and I reached the
conclusion that once the index is scrambled, it is, for all
practical purposes, impossible to unscramble it. I ended up
deleting all the old messages and starting over with a clean
slate.

If you do this, keep in mind that the text index MUST be up to
date before you delete any message or messages. To do this, Open
the discussion web in FrontPage then select Tools, Options to
open the Options dialog box. In the General tab, check mark Warn
when Text Index Is Out Of Date, then click OK. CLOSE the web and
OPEN it again. It is imperative that you fully close the web in
FrontPage, then open it, and not just switch from one page to
another. It might even be prudent to close FrontPage then
re-start it.

When you re-start FrontPage then open your web site, if the text
index is out of date you should get a warning. Click Yes to have
FrontPage re-index the Web. Once this re-indexing process is
completed you can delete messages safely. But, the proper way to
delete messages is to select the Folders view in FrontPage, then
select your discussion group's folder. This will usually be
_disc1. Select the message you want to delete then click the
right mouse button and select Delete. Gordon
