I have a user that could not open his personal folders
after he crashed in Outlook 2001 two weekends ago. I
discovered that you can only repair the file by copying to
a PC and running the repair tool there, scanpst.exe. The
repair tool read the 1.06 Gb pst (too large, I know) and
repaired it, but showed nothing in recovered files except
a trashcan that was empty.
I am trying to find alternatives for repair, if there are
any, and chances for success. If you try to open the app
with the pst file, you get a message saying that errors
were found in a folder within personal folders.
Here's hoping someone has seen this, and either succeeded
in repair, or says it can't be done. That's my view for
now.
