damaged records in .dbf file

I am working with a numerous of .dbf files and one of them became corrupted somehow. There are more than 100 records in this file. I figured out that the cause is several corrupted records in a memo field. I tried to move the data into file with another extension,.xls for instance, but the file is not responding. How can I get the whole data?
