Damn Mail Forward info

Someone explain to me excatly how the rule works. I used the following
directions.

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011502011033.aspx

Created a mail redirect rule to an external email account.

I am using outlook 2003 and echange 2003.

When the rule is created, do I need to close and re-open my email client?
Does the rule run even if my outlook client is closed?
How long should it take for the rule to run once a new msg comes in?
Is there a log somewhere I can see how the rule is running?

I have set it up and its been about 20 mins now and I still havent got a
message to my outside account yet. Just curious on how the process works
behind the scenes on outlook.

OK that worked...now to polish the rule a little bit...All gov employees have
a GC.CA ending of their email domain, can I create a rule to only send email
from those users to my external address...yes I can, but Outlook sometimes
sends the user in and does not display the full email address in the from
field..is there a away to correct this?

It works directly after you've set up the rule and receive a message. Note
that by secure default Exchange is configured to block automatic forwarding.

These are internal addresses? Than you can set the rule condition "sender in
specified Address Book"

What is shown in the From field then? The address should be there as well.
Could you explain "does not display the full email address"?
