DAP on the web

I have an Access 2003 with DAP's which I am trying to deploy to my website
using Frontpage 2003. The DAP's are still trying to read the mdb on my local
PC. I have set up a dsn on the web server but nothing seems to work. Any
ideas????

Practically, you cannot deploy a DAP page based on an MDB file over the
Internet (or WAN); only over a LAN. Instead of MDB, you must use MSDE or
SQL-Server as the backend database if you want to go over the internet. (Or
use RDS or a VNP but I seriously doubt that this is a true possibility in
your case.)

There is a newsgroup about DAP: m.p.a.dataaccess.pages .

Update for those interested... in order for DAP's to function perfectly over
the net, you need to get your ISP to configure the web server for RDS (Remote
Data Services bundled with MDAC).

I recommend you read these articles from the MS knowledge base:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291783/
and
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnacc2k2/html/deploydap.asp

A lot of config, but the benefits of the DAP vs others methods outweigh the
initial mucking around on the web server.

Works perfectly!
