Darkened cell borders

T

Tom Kreutz

I just pasted two table rows from Excel 2002 into a Word 2002 table,
and found that, for the first time ever, I have a slightly darkened (or
thickened) horizontal gridline above and below the pasted rows. It
disappears with the other gridlines when I do Hide Gridlines.

This has never happened before, and I can't figure out how to make it
go away. Is there any way to query the cell and learn about (or change)
this odd gridline? (Format menu/Borders and Shading... doesn't appear
to show anything unusual.)

Many thanks,

Tom Kreutz

If you're seeing a thick gray line at the bottom of the row, this means that
the row height is set exactly and the text height exceeds the row height.
This is not uncommon when pasting from Excel. Change the row height to "At
least" or clear the check box entirely to allow it to be automatic.
