Data Access Pages won't connect to DB on web server

My DAPs don't seem to connect to the database when
deployed on the web server. They continue to connect to
my C:Drive or not connect at all. I've implemented all
the fixes recommended by Microsoft to no avail: Deleted
absolute paths, set useRemoteProvider to True, lowered
security on the IE browser. "Internet Server Error"
message keeps appearing when trying to open a DAP. The
server people hosting this site assure me that they have
the proper components installed. What gives??? I've
never had this much trouble running ASP. Why are DAPs so
hard to deploy. If I can't get this up and running soon I
may have to put Access development aside and do this app
in good old asp.

Any help would be appreciated.
