I have Project Server 2007 installed on a windows 2003 server as a Virtual
PC. The virtual PC is running on my laptop. My laptop is registered in a
domain, the Virtual server is not registered in any domain.
I've created a Data Analysis view on the Project Server. Tested this view on
the the server itself (i'm logged on as a local user), where it works just
fine.
To open the view remotely I launch IE on my laptop (where i'm logged in as a
domain user), and browse to the Project Web Access site (where I then need to
provide username and pwd of the local user on the server in order to get
access). However, when I try to open the view I get following error: 'The
query could not be processed. The following system error occured: The system
detected a possible attempt to compromise security. Please ensure that you
can contact the server that authenticated you.'
I tried adding the domain user as a member of the
SQLServer2005MSOLAPUser$<SERVER>$MSSQLSERVER server group, but it seems that
the domain user can not be added to the server which is in a workgroup. So I
then added the built-in 'Everyone' account as a member to this group, just to
try and get this thing in the air (I'm well aware that this is not a best
practice from a security point of view ....but hey... ). Same result.
So now I'm kinda stuck, wondering if there's really no other way than going
through the entire setup again just to have the server registered in the
domain (because this I have learned already: you should not just register the
server in the domain and then expect that the Sharepoint and Project server
configuration is going to keep on working... no-no)
Any help is more than welcome here.
Thanks!
