Data changes in cells

I am using Excel 2003. Whenever I type in "myu" into any cell, when I move
on to the next cell, the "myu" changes to "my." How can I change that. I
seem to be able to type "my...and any other letter at the end, but just not
"myu."

Excel is trying to correct your spelling. Pull-down:

Tools > Options... > Spelling > Autocorrect and in the autocorrect tab,
remove the spelling "fix".
