Office OL 2007
Win XP Pro SP2
Outlook "closed improperly" the other day. I can't remember exactly why.
When I restarted OL, I got the "usual" alert that it had closed improperly,
that the file would undergo whatever check occurs when that happens, and
that the system performance may be affected during the check. The lower
righthand of the screen showed an icon with two gears, and hovering the
mouse over the icon produced the tip "Data file in progress."
Hours later, when it was time to shut down OL, the file check was apparently
still in progress.
Now, on restarting OL again, it's still checking.
How long should this take? How can I tell if this is a problem?
Thanks.
