Data File Not Shut Down Properly

Bill

Thanks to this board I solved one issue I was having with Outlook and now I
am trying to solve another.

I am running Outlook 2007 on two personal PC's. When starting Outlook I
receive the error on each: "Date file did not close properly the last time
it was used and is being checked for problems..." The two little gears in
the lower right of the screen are there, not moving and do not go away.

I read a number of postings about it possibly being tied to Outlook Add-ins.
I disabled all and still have the problem. I ran Office diagnostic for
Outlook and the scanpst.exe on the back up file with no luck.

Suggestions/Help appreciated.

Once the 2 gears are shown in the right bottom corner, you'll need to leave
Outlook open until they go away or they will keep on appearing. Depending on
the size of your pst-file, this could take quite a while.

When you shutdown your PC, make sure you close Outlook first and verify that
the outlook.exe process actually quits. Otherwise it will get terminated and
you'll get the warning again.

Thank you very much!
I will do as you say, and report back.
