Data filtering

Does anyone know if there any plans to add support for more powerful
data filtering to Excel 2008? In Excel 2007 on Windows, when
autofilter is enabled for a column, the filter dropdown menu allows
you to select multiple values to include in the filter via
checkboxes. It also has a "Select All" checkbox that allows you to
easily set/clear all of the selections. I was hoping that Excel:mac
2008 would have this feature, but instead it appears to have the same
filtering abilities that Excel:mac 2004 had; i.e., select one value at
a time, or select up to two values using a custom filter. There is no
way to display the set of rows that have, say, one of three values for
a field.

Hi,

We have received requests for the same type of data filtering support as
offered in Windows Excel 2007 and are investigating it for a future version.
Unfortunately, we can't say for sure if or when we will add it, but we are
tracking these kinds of requests.

Thanks,

Pat

As an alternative you might consider the Advanced Filter - the Criteria Area
can include as many rows of criteria as you might conceivably want to use,
it can accommodate more complex criteria & can be set to filter the list in
place (as the AutoFilter does) or copy the found records to another
location. It just isn't quite as 'convenient' as the AutoFilter:)
